Energy Savers

In 2017, the Town of Minturn was accepted to participate in Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy offering. Through a facilitated engagement process in collaboration with Xcel Energy, the Town of Minturn developed an Energy Action Plan to move the Minturn community towards new greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction, energy reduction, and renewable energy goals over the next 18-months and beyond.

Home Energy Squad

Does your home have drafty doors, an old thermostat, or inefficient incandescent light bulbs? The Home Energy Squad® can fix these things and more in one visit quickly, efficiently, and affordably. Expert technicians take care of all the little things for you, which can add up to big savings on your energy bill. Minturn will be Vail Valley's energy leader by advancing opportunities for the community, residents, and businesses through the promotion of energy efficiency, economic vitality, and a renewable energy future.

Goals

• Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction Goal: Reduce building-related GHG emissions 5% per year, and 80% by 2050 (2016 baseline).
• Energy Reduction Goal: Achieve a 5% energy reduction from community-wide by mid-2019 (2016 baseline).
• Renewable Energy Goal: Engage 5% of Minturn households and businesses in an available Xcel Energy renewable energy program.

Colorado’s Affordable Residential Energy (CARE) Program

Qualified homeowners and tenants can receive FREE assistance help to reduce energy bills through the CARE program. Services range from appliance upgrades to air sealing depending on a home’s priorities. To qualify, a household must be at or below 80% of the area median income. Interested?
