Town of Minturn Employment

The Town of Minturn is currently recruiting for the following positions:

The Minturn Municipal Court is in search of an individual that has the skills and the willingness to commit to one evening a month (second Thursday of each month) to translate (English/Spanish) for the Municipal Court. The interpreter would be required to have the ability to read and speak Spanish to translate information between the defendant and the Court (Judge/Attorney/Police Officer). It is important to note that the interpreter would be present to translate information only and not to provide any legal advice to the defendant.

This is an important position within the Court: Staff wants to ensure that an individual that does not speak English or speaks English on a limited basis fully understands his/her rights in Court and comprehends the proceedings as they are happening.

If you are interested in applying for this position, please contact Lisa A. Osborne at the Minturn Town Offices located at 302 Pine Street in Minturn. Ms. Osborne may be reached via telephone at (970) 827-5645, extension 105. It is essential to note that any individual that submits an application for this position would be subjected to a background and criminal history check. The successful applicant would be compensated thirty dollars per hour and have the joy of assisting those in need. As mentioned above, Minturn Municipal Court is held the second Thursday of each month and generally would require the successful applicant to commit two to three hours of time for each Court session. Come join us in the pursuit of ensuring fair and equal treatment for all that come before the Minturn Municipal Court.
